Christopher Whitehouse and David Rees to speak to the Leeds STEP Spring Conference

On 7 April STEP will be holding the first leg of its Spring Conference in Leeds. The conference is titled 'Trusts, Tax & Estates: Essential Guidance on the Latest Developments'. This year's conference includes a review of the 2011 Budget/Finance Bill and capital tax planning generally, a probate update (including all the recent case law), an update on mistake and Hastings-Bass in the light of Pitt v Holt, a consideration of the impact of IHT on payments under pension schemes, a review of Court of Protection matters and a session on HMRC’s view on compliance and penalties.

Christopher Whitehouse will be speaking at the event on capital tax planning, while David Rees will be updating the conference on the latest Court of Protection developments.

Further sessions of the conference will be held in Exeter on 15 April (at which Joseph Goldsmith will be speaking in place of David Rees), in Birmingham on 13 May and in London on 27 May.
