21 October 2010 – High Court determines extent of government guarantee in BT Pension Scheme Trustees Ltd v BT Plc

The High Court has decided that a statutory 'guarantee', given by the Secretary of State for Business and Skills pursuant to section 68 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 in respect of pension scheme liabilities transferred to British Telecommunications Limited, extends to contributions by both pre- and post-transfer joiners.
